About this project

안녕하세요 여러분! (Hello, Everyone!) Koreatowns in North Texas shares the history and culture of Korean Americans in North Texas. It is a site for Korean Americans and non-Korean Americans; everyone is invited to visit this site.  Besides the Handbook of Texas Online, not much information is found on the web about Korean American history and culture in the South, specifically Texas. Therefore, a digital public history site such as this one helps to build a foundation for future sites on Korean American history and culture.

There are three Exhibits. Each Exhibit includes images and short descriptions. Exhibits 1 and 2 provide information about the two Koreatowns in North Texas: Koreatown Dallas and Koreatown Carrollton. Exhibit 3, Who's Who in the North Texas Korean American Communities, shares information about Korean Americans in North Texas and how some of them have helped with the development of the Koreatowns in North Texas. There is also a Map that features the geolocations of some of the items from all three exhibits. For upcoming events in the North Texas area, please visit the Cultural Events section. Before you leave this site, please visit the Share Your Story section, and consider contributing your memory of one or both of the Koreatowns or a memory of your Korean American experience in North Texas by visiting the Join the Community section. Last but not least, a Bibilography is available if you are interested in learning more about the sources featured in this site.
